Broadway is a striking contemporary family home designed to capture expansive sea views across the Solent towards the Isle of Wight. The architecture responds directly to its coastal setting, combining robust materials with a restrained palette that sits comfortably within the landscape.

A carefully detailed brick plinth anchors the building to the site, providing a sense of permanence and grounding. Above, soft natural timber cladding wraps the upper floor, introducing warmth and texture while allowing the building to weather naturally in response to the exposed coastal environment. Over time, the timber will develop a silver-grey patina, further strengthening its connection to the landscape.

Generous areas of glazing frame long-reaching views towards the Isle of Wight, maximising natural light and creating a seamless relationship between the interior spaces and the surrounding seascape. The arrangement of windows has been carefully considered to balance openness, privacy and solar performance while celebrating the home's exceptional outlook.

At the heart of the design, a dramatic double-height entrance space forms the focal point of the house. This light-filled volume visually and physically connects the ground and first floors while establishing a strong connection to the outdoors, creating an immediate sense of arrival and reinforcing the home's open, contemporary character.
